Sometime next week Coach K and Chris Collins will return, hopefully with the Gold and both will jump right into recruiting. The in home visits will soon be set as the period will get hot through the November where some kids could pull the trigger.
I'm looking forward to watching what Austin Rivers does as the season nears and I can tell you that lots of things are in the works already.
Here is a little tip for you recruitniks - Duke will visit Amile Jefferson and Savon Goodman tomorrow and there is more but I have to save some of that as you well know.
It's going to be a busy few months ahead and what a great time of year it is with basketball season starting and football in mid stream.
How do you guys think the future unfolds? I am starting to get a good idea but there is some serious evaluations to come and they will make or break some kids chances of being recruited by the defending national champions.

As to your question, I feel good about Austin joining the family. He is a great talent, but is it sad that we are still in great shape at SG should he decide to play elsewhere? I certainly want him, don't misunderstand, but unlike years past it is nice to not have seemingly everything hinge on one kid's decision. I am leery of ol roy and his full court press of course, but I have a feeling Austin will not be so easily swayed hearing that spill. Time will tell.
I really like the Murphy kid also. Would love to see him sign on and give us another player in the mold of Dunleavy and Singler. Murphy seems to have a mix of those 2 Blue Devils in his game. The kid looks really good. I definitely want to see him wearing the correct shade of blue.

Goodman and Jefferson both appear to be wings who are not far from having the same skill set as Gbinije who is already on board (and Quincy who we are still chasing for that matter).
Is that an accurate statement? Or do we need a Nate James/Chris Carrawell corrollary where you cant have too many great wing athletes? In general, what do our efforts with these two recruits mean about our standing with others - specifically Murphy, Muhammad and Tokoto (UNC guy maybe?)?
To this year's team, I think the construction of the defense wil be just as interesting as the changes in offense. We really won't have many of the mid-size guys, more of a collection of guards and big men.
I'd say that only Kyle and Lance fit that profile last year.
I agree with you about this year. Switching on screens will lead to lots of mismatches.
measured at 6-4.75 in his stocking feet and 6-6 with shoes. Most 6-5 guys were actually 6-3.5. Jon's wingspan of 6-3.25, however, won him the JJ Redick Flipper Award from Sage Grouse.
