This story is a bit complex with all the charges and counter-charges, the various stories and some odd circumstances, so I won't attempt to give any sort of thumbnail description. Essentially, though, Karen Cunagin Sypher is accused of attempting to extort Pitino by saying she would accuse him of rape and other sexual misconduct unless he paid her off. Suffice it to say that it will be a media circus.

Come on, DBR. Really? You credit the content of a witness' hearsay testimony of something Sypher said as factual truth? Really? She has the unflappable credibility of the Iraqi Information Minister ("I triple guarantee you, there are no American soldiers in Baghdad").

You reported as fact that Sypher turned down a $100,000 offer from Pitino.

The only evidence to support your statement was the testimony of her ex-husband who stated she told him Pitino offered her $100,000 but she was holding out for a half million. Come on, guys. We didn't like it when the NYT credited any part of Crystal's story either.
