Nice Goodman article on Nolan and Kyle:

Nolan says "good chance" he would have left if Kyle had left. Had "friends" in the NBA in his ear.
Nolan and Kyle shooting for another NC. Both headed to LBJ camp.
Kyle knows he can have better year, tough transition to start last year.
Nolan working on playing faster, "up-tempo": transition threes and quick offensive moves.
“We feel like we can be an even better team and we can do it again,”
When does practice start?
I smiled.
It is a sensational time to be a Duke fan. Too bad for those who jumped ship with the "Duke is Dead" crowd. Ha.
too bad we're not athletic

Link worked fine for me. Try this instead. Nice article. I don't think Nolan was a sure-fire draft pick. Likely second rounder, but not sure why he'd leave for that if Singler had chosen to leave. Super excited for this upcoming season though!
I can see some of the reasoning. Just because you're not the first pick in the draft doesn't necessarily mean it's not the best time to go. He just capped off a stellar season, posting 17+ ppg and showing off his offensive versatility. He just got a ton of exposure in steering a team to a national title. Most seem to think he's just undersized, and that's not going to change over a year. It's hard to see how his personal stock could get much higher.
Then again, with the mass exodus of underclassmen, the field is pretty stacked, so maybe it's better to wait even if your personal stock won't get better - you might just go up in the draft by default. Who knows? There are so many different factors to consider, and there was at least enough incentive to make him weigh his options. I'm obviously not saying he should have gone, but it's by no means black and white.
