Al Featherston pays Barakat a few compliments in an article titled "Decline of the ACC" in an April issue of The Poop Sheet. He says that Barakat pushed ACC officiating into line with the rest of the NCAA so that the league's teams would be prepared for the style of play (and subsequent officiating) in the tourney.

To that end, thanks Fred! He seemed to be a guy who really cared about the conference. I hope the ACC can find more like him to keep the ACC the best.
