I really appreciated the Dan Wetzel article linked on the front page...Detroit is just such a sad case, by the far the worst case of urban decline we have in the US. And now they don't even have any basketball players. On a basketball note, I couldn't help but think of the fantastic teams that University of Detroit had in the late 1970's, with John Long, Terry Tyler, Terry Duerod and Earl Cureton - all future NBA players. They also had an outstanding young coach you may have heard of - Dick Vitale.
