Obama wins the Nobel Peace Prize

Wow, that surprises me. Happy, but very surprised.

I hope he uses the momentum it has to give him. Congrats to the Prez.

Not sure if he has really done enough to deserve it, but if they can use the momentum to move forward on some big, world-wide issues that would be great.

Not sure how to develop this thread without it venturing into the realm of the PPB and risking the ire of the ubermeisters. Nevertheless, this is a big surprise and clearly a signal of what the committee hopes will come as opposed to what has been accomplished. Let's hope our President will rise to the award and recognition.

Sounds to me like the recent Big Bang Theory episode where Sheldon gives Penny a chocolate every time she does something that conforms to Sheldon's "rules."

The Nobel Peace Prize hasn't meant much since 2007 anyway.

Later today I will be having all of my fingers amputated so as to make it impossible for me to post in this thread.

The rest of you remind me of an Old Jessee Winchester lyric, from the song Do It:

    If the wheel were fixed,
We would still take a chance,
If we're treading on thin ice,
Then we might as well dance,
    So we'll play the fool,
    But we can't sit still,
    Help me get this rock,
To the top of this hill.

But you do it, 'til you're sick of it
You do it 'til you can't do it no more.

Interesting POV from someone who watches Big Bang Theory.

Where else can one find The Big Bang Theory and Jesse Winchester referenced within a few minutes of each other?

    Kudos.

I think he just called me a sissyphus.

I may have to pull something out my Orpheus and strike back. Alala!

How Jessee Winchester never made it bigger than he has (yes, he is still around and has a new album out) amazes me. He is an incredible lyricist, wonderful voice, great stage presence, and good looking.

Or get Bill Ayers to write it for her.

Watch it, folks. Several of ya'll are teetering on the edge of being PPB. The Palin stuff, in particular, is likely over the line. I am not handing out infractions yet because I know a lot of what is going on here is just kidding around but think of how someone who is not in on your little jokes will read these comments and feel angry.

Why are you wasting time here when you could be wasting it by listening to the latest episode of the DBR Podcast?

Obviously not, Jason... otherwise this wouldn't have been posted here!

There's a new place to discuss PPB material. See this thread:
