Not sure how to develop this thread without it venturing into the realm of the PPB and risking the ire of the ubermeisters. Nevertheless, this is a big surprise and clearly a signal of what the committee hopes will come as opposed to what has been accomplished. Sounds to me like the recent Big Bang Theory episode where Sheldon gives Penny a chocolate every time she does something that conforms to Sheldon's "rules."

The Nobel Peace Prize hasn't meant much since 2007 anyway.

How Jessee Winchester never made it bigger than he has (yes, he is still around and has a new album out) amazes me. He is an incredible lyricist, wonderful voice, great stage presence, and good looking.
