the beatles re-mastered and now on rock band

My 10 year old loves rock band. I play with him occasionally, and usually have a lot of fun when I do. I imagine that when I buy the Beatles Rock Band he and I will be having a blast.

I just pray that teenagers who play these games don't think that the Beatles are some new band that "just came out."

Have you listened to the remasters and is the sound appreciably better than those from the late 80's? Also, what about mono vs stereo?

I love Rock Band and the Guitar Hero World Tour kit, but I'm not at all excited about the new Rock Band: The Beatles. I'm just not a Beatles fan; I guess I'm too young. I am, however, excited about the new Guitar Hero 5, which makes the game more party-friendly.

I think the 80's Beatles CDs are horrible! IMO, they're very harsh and lack dynamics & detail. IMO, the 60's vinyl is far, far superior!

I prefer the new mono's to the new stereo's because they were not limited and had less EQing. OTOH, the new stereo releases blow the old ones away.

In general, I love the mono's because of the added passages and the added attention they received during original production. Much more time and energy was spent on the mono releases originally. I realize some people listen to Pet Sounds in stereo but you will not find me doing that.
