Which suggests that he will bounce back - games like FSU will be the exception, and not the rule, as far as his season is concerned (at least IMO).
His defense was excellent, he drove the lane and dished, helped run the offense and had three assists, and somehow didn't foul anyone in 38 minutes. I don't know if I would call it a sub-par performance but an off-shooting night for sure.

Bottom line - this team can be beat by shutting down their guards...

Ha ha! There's a reason I wrestled in high school.

I'd have to compare my game to Steve Kerr. I idolized him growing up (in my eyes only JJ compares) and damn near refuse to shoot anything but a three-pointer during any basketball function. Defensively I'm scrappy but if you really know what you're doing and you're an athlete then I'm pretty much toast.

We've got some good guys in the gym at Tech, even a couple of walk-ons from the team that had to make room for Thad and Javaris BUT compared to us Clinch is an elite athlete. He'll go pro - somewhere...

    Oh! The game has started!!

Oh yeah - don't be surprised if Tech's 'bigs' shoot some three balls!

I just wish we'd PASS the ball a bit more and look for better shots rather than settling for the first bad shot we can find. And what is UP with Scheyer's FT shooting?!

  10. When Pocius is playing in the first half, you know we're not shooting well.

I guess "palming" is the point of emphasis for tonight's officiating crew.

Finally...a lead! I'm encouraged because I don't think we can be much worse offensively. Thank goodness for Greg P!

I'm very happy by Paulus' play tonight, because smith seems to have disappeared in the last 2 games.

Smith's clearly a better defender, but his ability to create recently has been suspect, and he's really not putting up points at a high enough clip.

Defense turned it up at the end of the second half - just 3 points in 13 possessions over the last 7:07 for Tech.
Just be you. You is enough. - K, 4/5/10, 0:13.8 to play, 60-59 Duke.

You're all jealous hypocrites. - Titus on Laettner

You see those guys? Animals. They're animals. - SIU Coach Chris Lowery, on Duke

    Incidentally, two things:

    1. They're having trouble getting the ball in inside...this is anyone really, paulus or nolan or whoever is on the outside.

I'd like to see a few plays of pass to Zou inside and let him post up on a player to try and score.

and 2. When he's been near the ball, Zou's looked mediocre through the last 2 games. This game taht turnover on our own end by him after a rebound was just a bit much.

Zou's D is still far better than lances', mainly due to his size, but we're basically using him like Mcclure right now, which is really hurting our offense.

    Looking Past GT

Frankly, I am glad we are no playing a great game right now. GT is a team that we should be able to beat on a bad night. A great team has to be able to look past a mediocre team and still beat them, and that is what we are doing.

Our O is a work in progress, but it is good enought most nights to keep us in it, especially when our D is nasty.

  18. Scheyer not showing very good shot selection...

Well offensively, I agree. Defensively though, we got more solid in the last half of the first half and thus their offensive mistakes have looked a lot worse.

(Notice the lack of offensive boards since a while ago?)

Sigh, now if our offense could pick it up.
