    America runs on Dunkin'

Or at least that is what their ads say. Having moved up from Greensboro/Winston-Salem, home of Krispy Kreme, to the Boston area, home of Dunkin, I just wanted to get some opinions.

Do you see Dunkin' Donuts around where you live? I remember Dunkin' from my days in Arizona, it was in all the parts of Phoenix you didn't want to be in.

There's one in Clayton on US 70 (now Business 70), and the sign has gone up in Smithfield where there will be a Dunkin Donuts on Hwy 301. We're very pleased about that. I buy their coffee at Sam's Club for home use - it is excellent!
    Ozzie, your paradigm of optimism!

Several locations in the Raleigh area, mostly under the same roof as Baskin-Robbins, which is even a better dining combination than the Taco Bell-KFC cohabitation that we often see in the NC area.

Being a Bostonian, I love Dunks..but I continue to be amazed at the volume up here in MA. Several streets near me have dueling stores across the street from each other..and these are local non-divided roads.

One thing that I always found interesting about visiting DD in other parts of the country though is the lack of popularity of ice coffee, which probably sells as well as hot coffee locally. I've been to stores in both Florida and Arizona that have merely poured hot coffee over ice. I figured there would be a much bigger market for ice coffee in those places compared to chilly Boston..

Cake Iced Doughnuts, made by my old pal Little Debbie, just might make you forget there ever was a KK or DD.

I have a certain affinity for the coconut crumbed doughnuts that you can buy in a convenience or grocery store under various labels.

Very much a Dunkin Donuts fan

I don't get KK; I was born and raised on Dunkin. Atlanta has more DD. Lex has DD, but the most popular donuts to local folks may be a local donut shop that makes its donuts similar to those of KK.

A pumpkin or blueberry donut with a hot beverage... ymm.

Again, the bigger problem here is bagels, not donuts.

A hot beverage? I thought you had become a beer and donuts guy.

Brunch awaits, but I see a Dunkin' Donuts in my future. In other words, tomorrow on my jaunt down to Connecticut. I wonder if there will be cougars in the area?

    FWIW, Tim Horton's = DD.

A good, fresh, local bakery can beat almost any national chain.

True, but like McDonald's there is something to be said for consistent quality...(words omitted intentionally).

I'm beginning to worry about you and your interest in cougars...

They are an interesting phenomena that I witnessed this summer in the Hamptons. In some ways, it is sort of like a train wreck...I don't want to see it but I can't turn away.

No, but IIRC, there's a Fish down there!

    Where is Fish80 these days?
