    I recall when we were the cat's meow using IBM Mag Card Typewriters for word processing - in about 1974 or so.

    I have generally used AMD processors whenever possible because:

    1) Except when its against "my" team, I like to root for the underdog
    2) I dislike monopolies...and without AMD we would have one in processors.

    With that said, if the underdog can't provide a competitive product you go with the near-monopolist who has a product that meets your needs.
