Charting Duke vs Florida State
Ugh. I didn't want to do this game. But I did.
Anyhow of note: We started this game with Miles in the starting lineup. But Miles didn't start the 2nd half (first time we had different starters in the halves since I've been charting). So his +3 is of course deceiving, given how little he played.
We spent basically half of the game with the same small line (Dre at the 3, Singler at the 4, Mason at the 5). It only lost by 1 while on the floor.
The silly looking Kyle playing Center line appears to be Duke's new thing during FT situations...as it showed up when we were trying to get a steal or foul at the end of the game for 2 points. We'll see this line at end of games a lot,, I suspect.
Hairston was in 3 lines. All 3 were negative (though 2 were consecutive lines). Didn't work here after not playing against Maryland.
Expect for Mason to start next game, despite his poor scoring. Coach K just has no faith in Miles at this point, with Miles basically getting like 2 minutes of play in the second half. And this was with Mason in foul trouble! When Mason came out in the 2nd half, Ryan played the 5 instead of Miles, as would usually be the case.
Anyhow, enough about this game. NEXT PLAY.
