My manager just told me Singler has already put on apporximately 30 pounds of muscle. He is usually "in the know" on this stuff so that kind of news makes me excited. :)
Maybe Watzone can chime in here?

The implication in this post is that Singler has put on 30 lbs of muscle very recently. I really hope that this isn't true, as this can't be done in a short amount of time without pharmacological assistance.
By the way, what are the odds that any Duke hoops player has ever taken an anabolic steroid or a growth hormone? Unfortunately, I'm guessing that it's fairly likely.

As somebody that tries to put on muscle weight, putting on 30lbs instantly seems highly improbable. Especially if he is running around playing ball all day. I have always been amazed at how Boozer, Brand, and S. Williams came in as beasts. It's hard to fathom being that big at 18 years of age. I think they were blessed with wonderful genetics. I think it would be too hard to hide performance enhancing drugs on the college level.
Remember, at their age it is not unusual to fill out fast. On a side note if he has been lifting all this time with playing on the national teams it isn't that big of a shock.
Maybe he has put on 10 or 15 pounds, but 30? I doubt it.
Maybe. Logistically speaking I don't know how the anatomy works thorugh excercise especiialy taking height and weight into account.
Promising news that he is getting ready though.
Oooh, is he also nailing shots from half-court with his eyes closed? Dominating NBA players in pick-up games?
Maybe six or seven pounds. He will be on campus working out in late July.
30 pounds? Since 8th grade maybe.
Look, IMO, trying to turn Singler into a 5 would not take best advantage of his skills and would put him at excessive risk of fouling out. Why turn a potentially great college forward in to a mediocre center? Just doesn't make sense to me.
Kyle Shavler. ;)
Kyle Singler will probably wind up being the leading scorer this year. Also, probably ACC Rookie of the Year.
