Ali B Hangs It Up

Alison Bales has announced her retirement from basketball. She's headed for med school.

She's the ACC's all-time leader in blocked shots, but the block she didn't quite get was killer (Kristi Tolliver's three to force overtime in the 2006 championship game).

Best of luck going forward, Ali.

Now THAT is a student-athlete. Best of luck to Alison in her medical career and otherwise.

Maybe she can give some tips to Elizabeth Williams, since I've read she has medical school plans as well!
