What's everyone getting for dear old Muddah this year?

I'm going all out and fulfilling a decades-long dream for my mom with Jimmy Buffett tickets. She's never been before, but been wanting to for years. The Atlanta show always sells out in about 5 minutes (no exaggeration there), so it was a real score for me. What's more, the show is the day after her birthday. She has no idea she's getting them, and it's been a real chore keeping my mouth shut about it for two months. Tuesday is the day; sadly, I won't be with her on Mother's Day proper, as she'll be attending my cousin's college graduation and I'll be giving a paper in Florida.

Now, hopefully she hasn't been going behind my back and lurking on the boards. ;)

Tickets to Neil Diamond at the Garden and the new CD. What can I say? She loves the guy.

We're hitting the casinos in Biloxi (they live near Mobile, Alabama). Yes, I am serious.

My mom died several years ago but I am most certainly going to remind my three children to be kind and thoughtful to my wife on Sunday 'cuz without her, they wouldn't be children/young adults today:o . My M-I-L is still living and I believe my wife will visit her on Sunday with a nice card and something sweet to eat and some pix of our children.

We actually found a Wii in stock at wally-world this week and brought it home. For the first time in months the whole family is in the living room at night doing things together. Even though it was a bit early, my wife thinks that's the best Mom's day gift she's had in a long time. (The kids love boxing her, but so far she's undefeated!)

Flowers sent to Mom. Wii Fit for the wife. (And yes, she wants it -- it's not just a bad hint).

My mom used to love The Carol Burnett Show and last year she said she'd love to watch those again.

Lo and behold if I didn't recently see an infomercial for the Box Set of all the seasons to the show.

I'm going to get it for her.

If you haven't already ordered them. From what I've researched, there is no official release of these DVD's. There has been a scam running out of Canada. IF you actually receive them, they are recorded off of TVLand.

Don't want to be a poozer, but, Good Luck.

Snap, thanks!

Really, THANKS!

Okay, guess I'll get my mom a card and a candle.

I got my mom a couple of seasons of M*A*S*H for Christmas a couple of years ago. She texts me about twice a month to tell me how hard she's laughing at them. It always makes me happy.

Funny thing, my mom wanted an updated photo of me. So that is what she is getting for Mother's Day. That was easy...

And yes, I see my parents fairly often. Last year 6 times from my home on the East Coast.
