This is a public poll.

Many people like the spring. I like it, but I'm not a huge fan. I like October. Now I, EarlJam am curious to know what your favorite month is.

With love that knows no boundries,

This definitely deserves to be on the main board. Clearly, it's on topic, haha. I'd have to go with April. Which is now! Wahoo!

Never was a December fan until I had kids.

I voted September for the same reason.

I can only assume that those who voted for July do not live in North Carolina :)

Me too. Do we live here because we love it or do we love it because we live here?

December is definitely my second favorite. Part of the joy of October for me is knowing that the hot stuff is over, Wilson Farms has caramel apple cider and apple cinnamon donuts, and Christmas is on the way. Oh yeah, and midnight madness.

A little of both, though for me the latter dominates. As a recent transplant, one of the most pleasant surprises was fall. Now I know why so many tourists come in around that time to see the leaves change.

It's gotta be the lusty month of May. All of nature sings/blossoms/shacks up and makes babies, girls put on sundresses and immediately get prettier, and then it culminates in the official start of summer over Memorial Day weekend. This is a very easy choice in my book.

Weather-wise the best time of year here in NYC for me. Cold weather behind us, flowers blooming, and summer at the doorstep.

Summertime, summertime, summertime, summertime, sum-sum-summertime.

BUT

it's late September and I really should be back at school...

Wake me up when September ends...

I voted December, because I am a Christmas junky. Living in Florida the December weather is usually wonderful (much more fun to put up Christmas lights in shorts and t-shirts) we've been known to turn on the AC so we can have a fire in the fireplace on Christmas. Yes, really.

May: Kentucky Derby, no pollen, graduations, real baseball, the FA Cup, the NCAA Lacrosse championship, end of Malagasy rainy season, and of course, you can again begin to wear white.

May Day Cheers,

I am the self-proclaimed DBR head elf, so I agree with your love of December. But your deck/porch/patio and mine are essentially worthless in December. While Christmastime is a close second, May it is.

I too love December, but I don't know how you can take Florida in December. My parents lived there during my college years, and it was so hard to get in the X-mas spirit with the weather so warm. Even Charleston is a little better as it gets close to freezing, but I like snow and cold for my Christmases.

Looks like fall is the preferred season, narrowly edging out spring. I think I would rank them Fall>Winter>Spring>Summer.

I'm joining in the chorus for October. Football season is going strong, as is the promise of the basketball season to come. March is too sad for me because March Madness marks the end of the basketball season. Fall colors are beautiful, and the weather is great.

It's generally the first entire month when the weather suits summer clothing, going from inside to outside without having to change. Fish are biting, grass is green and vacation is right around the corner.

When I was young (rocks were invented) the summertime ruled. It could not get hot enough! Now, the older I get, the less I'm tolerant of hot temps. As for winters, I hate having to put on all the extra clothes.

let's see:

Jan/Feb/Mar-skiing
Apr/May/June-beauty/spring
Jul/Aug/Sept-the beach
Oct/Nov/Dec-beauty/cooling/holidays

How's that for non-committal?
