Ok, this (http://sports.yahoo.com/sow/news;_ylt=Am3NmQymvWymsdTArCndHdAmw7YF?slug=ap-missingcubans&prov=ap&type=lgns) is one of the more bizarre sports stories out there. Cuba shows up to the U-23 championship(and Olympic qualifying tournament) with an 18 player squad. After the first game, 5 players left the team - presumedly planning to stay in the US permanently. The next day 2 more players leave the team. To add to that, a player picked up a red card in the first game, meaning he was suspended for game 2. Which meant for game 2 they had 18 - 7 defectors - 1 suspended = 10 players.

I don't understand why Cuba even bothers to send teams to the U.S. any more...
